While you folks in Australia are experiencing unseasonably warm weather in May, Paris can't throw off her winter woollies.
But despite the rain, the chilly winds and lack of sunshine, the tulips seem to think it's warm enough to provide a fabulous display everywhere you go. I guess anything above freezing is warm enough for tulips.
Oranges, yellows and a few reds with forget-me-nots providing a bit of blue.
The same colour mix (must have been the same gardening crew) but this time with a white border of miniature marguerites.
Rows of stunning reds not yet in full flower in the Tuileries.
The chestnut trees bordering the avenues within the Tuileries are in full flower.
These too are chestnuts bordering the Champs Elysees outside the Petit Palais. They too are in flower but it is difficult to see.
These roses are real. All exactly the same colour, shape and size. This is the pale, pale pink window.
And this is the yellowy, orange window.
Massed phalaenopsis orchids.
Tweedle-dum and twiddle-dee - aren't they gorgeous?
A wilder, less manicured patch in front of the Swedish Cultural Centre.
Rhododendron in the Musée Rodin.
Highly perfumed cerise lilac.
Masses of lilac, not as highly perfumed as the darker variety.
Lilac up-close.
Tree peonies, also at the Musée Rodin.
Can you see the bee?
Aren't they lovely? and they look stunning in a vase.
And finally, the flower shop around the corner.
